Student Connect

The Student Connect self-serve application is used by enrolled students to view or maintain their personal details and related course details (for example, to self-enrol into units and unit sets, allocate themselves to activities, and view and update their graduation details).

ACTVTY-TT

 

Activity Timetable Inquiry

Provides students with a personalised timetable of their activities for a nominated activity period.

If a valid Activity Calendar Instance is provided, the application will also generate a timetable for the student with all SUA Activities, which are in teaching periods linked to the specified Activity Calendar. If there are no activities allocated for the specified Activity Calendar Instance, an empty Timetable will be generated.

ADDRVRF Connect Address Verification

Calls a web service to enable the population and verification of the address fields.

This application allows for the capture of a persons address and then verifies the address against the First Choice Software (FCS) online address verification software.

This application only allows access if the defined address verification software is FSC.
ADMCAT Admission Category

This function allows users to view the valid Admission Categories for an academic year and to view the explanations of those Admission Categories.

ADMPRD Admission Period

This function allows users to view the valid Admission periods for an academic year and Admission Category and to view the explanations of those Admission periods.

ADM-STEPS Display Admission Application Steps

The function displays all Admission Application Admission Steps (created in the Create Admission Application Instance function) for a specific Admission application. It allows agents to navigate between the Admission Application Admission Steps and complete the details.

ADV-STND

Advanced Standing Inquiry

Enables users to view details of all GRANTED advanced standing within a specified course attempt. Unit advanced standing details are displayed before unit level advanced standing. Details of both CREDIT and PRECLUSION advanced standing types are displayed, together with the total credit points and percentage of course requirements granted.

If advanced standing has not been granted to the student for the context course attempt, navigation to the application is prevented and an information message is displayed.

If a unit has been precluded and alternative units are recorded in Callista, the user may navigate to the Advanced Standing Alternate Unit Inquiry application (AS-ALTUNIT) via the PRECLUSION link to view details of the alternate units.

AS-ALTUNIT

Advanced Standing Alternate Units Inquiry

Displays the alternative unit/s for a unit from which the students has been precluded. The application is opened via the PRECLUSION link in the Advanced Standing Inquiry application.

The presence of optional units indicates that the student has a choice of alternative units.

AS-GRNTSTS

Advanced Standing Granting Status Inquiry

Provides an explanation of advanced standing granting statuses. Explanations are sourced from System Advanced Standing Granting Status in ADVF1180.

This application is normally accessed via the GRANTING STATUS link in the Advanced Standing Inquiry application (ADV-STND). ADV-STND currently displays only GRANTED advanced standing.

ASS-COVER Assignment Cover Sheets

Creates cover sheets for assignments that have been identified. An assignment cover sheet is used during transmission of the assignment in a hard copy format between departments and faculties. This cover sheet is produced by the institution and provided to students on the commencement of units.

ASS-RESULT Assessment Based Results Release Results achievable Credit Points field.

Assessment Monitoring

This application allows the students to log onto Callista Connect and see their assignment progress. This application is an inquiry screen only; students are not able to update any details in this screen. Access through SSFF1100.

BRTH-CNTRY

Country Of Birth List

Enables a user to select their country of birth from an LOV as part of the GOVT-STATS application. The application is normally accessed via a search button in the Government Statistics application.

Data is sourced from STAF1124 (Maintain Government Country Codes).

CC_USSTAT Student Unit Set Attempt Status This screen lists the Student Unit Set Attempt Statuses. The statuses listed are static and all statuses are listed.

CAL-TYPE

Calendar Type Inquiry

Provides an explanation of calendar type codes. Opened by links in several applications such as SUA-CENR and PE-RESULT. Explanation is recorded in CALF0220 (Maintain Calendar Type).

The CAL-TYPE application can be configured to call all calendars or to return a single context calendar.

CMPREQ-CRS

Course Completion Requirements Inquiry

Enables a user to evaluate their course attempt in relation to course version completion rules. Both standard and predictive modes are displayed.

The standard mode is based on the user's current course attempt status and only those unit attempts with a finalised result are included in the rule evaluation.

The predictive mode is evaluated on the assumption that all currently enrolled unit attempts will be successfully completed.

The information is sourced from PRGF9030 (Inquire on Course Completion).

CMPREQ-CST

Course Stage Completion Requirements Inquiry

Enables a user to evaluate their course stages in relation to course stage completion rules. Both standard and predictive modes are displayed.

CRADMAPP Create Admission Application

This function allows for the definition and creation of the Admission Application, Admission Course Application, Admission Course Application Instance, Admission International Agent and Admission Application Admission Steps based on the data selected in the application.

CRDTBALINQ Credit Balance This application returns a student's credit balance. It uses the same calculations as FINF9130 to return the System Credit and Unmatched Payments (per Currency Code) for a Student.

CRSCMP-DTL

Course Completion Details Inquiry

Enables a user to view their course completion details in relation to credit point requirements and nominated completion year.

The information is sourced from PRGF9030 (Inquire on Course Completion). It can also be viewed in INQF1200 (Student Course Attempt).

DISINTAPPL Discontinuation/ Intermission Application Enables a student to apply for Discontinuation or Intermission from a course. Information recorded in this application feeds into ENRW3400.
DSPNTCE Display Notice

There is no screen layout for this application. It provides users with which notice to display, which student to display them to and that the displayed notice is logged.

DYN-MENU

 

Dynamic Menu

A Dynamic Menu is a menu that may be different for each staff member that accesses Callista Connect. A staff member must log on before the SSF Menu can be dynamically generated. See SSFF1100 for details.

ECAF Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form

Enables students to complete the appropriate electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF) within the Self Enrolment set or directly accessed through Connect. It enables students to make their Student Status Declaration using an on-line student self-service facility. As part of the choices given when submitting a declaration, this facility also includes the ability to record Tax File Numbers (TFN) and the full or part payment of fees to the University.

ECAN Electronic Commonwealth Assistance Notice

The eCAN Connect application displays a student's Commonwealth Assistance Notice. This application sources OS-HELP (Student Course External Study Loan) details from the External Study Loan CAN record type rather than using the open source procedure. See ssf_ecan.

ECANSEL ECAN Selection The ECANSEL application enables staff or students to view a list of available eCANS and select one for viewing. See ssf_ecan.

ENR-COE

Enrolment Confirmation Inquiry

Using Callista Connect, a student can now check enrolment details by going to the Confirmation of Enrolment screen.

ENR-SCAE

Enrolment Course Attempt Selection

Enables the user to select which course attempt to re-enrol in where the user has more than one student course attempt.

ENR-STEPS

Enrolment Course Attempt Steps

Provides the user with the set steps required for them to complete self-enrolment. The steps are pre-enrolled against student course attempts and define the enrolment steps displayed and the order they are displayed.

EPODF-1 HECS Payment Option Declaration Form - Declaration The purpose of this application is to provide Callista Connect users with access to the HECS Payment Option Declaration form.

E-PAY

Online Payment

Enables a user to pay fees online with a credit card by submitting relevant information to the ‘hosted payments’ service of an institution’s bank. The outcome of the operation is returned to the Electronic Payment page.

ESOA-CURR Current Statement of Account

Enables the user to produce a Statement of Account for Fee Calendars and Course Attempts that have an open Cohort Process Window.

These Statements of Account may be generated in HTML or PDF format and will be registered as the Electronic Correspondence Type specified in FINF1R00. Only the PDF version displays the barcode, Biller Code and Reference Number details.

When the Statement of Account is produced the DT_SENT value is set to the current date in the OUTGOING_ CORRESPONDENCE table.

ESOA-HIST Historic Statement of Account

Enables a student to produce an Historic Statement of Account for a selected Fee Calendar.
Only historic Fee Calendars in which the student has an extract and for which an open Cohort Process Window exists, are available for selection from the poplist.
The latest SOA information for each historic Fee Calendar is used, based on the latest creation date in the extract tables.

These Statements of Account may be generated in HTML or PDF format. Only the PDF version displays the barcode, Biller code and Reference Number details.

Note: This application will only work for 2005 data onwards.

EX-LOC-DTL

Examination Location Details

Displays examination location information for the context examination. Opened via a link from STUD-EXAM application.

EX-VEN-DTL

Examination Venue Details

Displays examination venue information for the context examination. Opened via a link from STUD-EXAM application.

EXAM-LOC

Examination Location List

Provides an LOV from which user's can select a course examination location.

FEE-TYPE

Fee Type Inquiry

Displays fee type information. Opened via a link from the FEETYP-DTL, OUTSTND-BAL and PYMNT-RECV applications.

Explanations are sourced from FINF2100 (Maintain Fee Types).

FEETYP-DTL

Fee Type Details

Displays all financial information for the user's student course attempt fee type including outstanding fees and payments received.

This information includes:

  • any loan details the student may have
  • sponsor details (if the institution chose to show this information)
  • assessed outstanding balance
  • any retained fee amounts
  • details of payments received
  • GST and any discounts available and awarded
  • capping transactions in the derivation of debt

This application is accessed in context via the links on amounts in the Outstanding Balance Inquiry Application (OUTSTN-BAL) and Payments Received Inquiry Application (PYMT-RECV).

GOVT-STATS

Government Statistic

Enables user's to add or change their government statistical data collected by DEST.

GRDCER Online Graduation Ceremony Selection Allows students to check the selections they have made in regards to which graduation ceremony they will or will not attend.
GRDCIR Online Graduation Ceremony Invitation and Response Enables a graduand to either accept or decline a graduation invitation and elect which ceremony (ies) they would like to attend; with the optional display on whether or not they will join the alumni and whether or not to have their award displayed on the web site. The application template will determine the display of the two questions.
GRDINQ Online Graduation Ceremony Inquiry Enables students to select a ceremony, view the ceremony details after selection, change a ceremony, elect to join the alumni, decide whether or not to have the award displayed on the website and select the preferred testamur graduation name.
GRDSUSA Graduand Student Unit Set Attempt Provides Graduand results for Graduand Ceremony Invitation.

GRD-SCHEMA

Grading Schema Inquiry

Provides an explanation of grading schema grade codes. Opened by a link from unit attempt outcome grades within results and student unit attempt inquiry applications.

HOME-LANG

Home Language List

Enables a user to select what language is spoken at home from an LOV as part of the GOVT-STATS application. The application is normally accessed via a search button in the Government Statistics application.

Data is sourced from STAF1125 (Maintain Government Language Codes).

LOC-CNTRY

Country of Location List

Enables a user to select their country of residence or country of birth from an LOV as part of the GOVT-STATS application. The application is normally accessed via a search button in the Government Statistics application.

Data is sourced from STAF1124 (Maintain Government Country Codes).

LOCATION

Location Inquiry

Provides an explanation of the context campus or exam location codes. Opened via links in other applications such as PE-RESULT.

LOGIN

Login

Displays fields to enable users to insert login details when accessing secure applications. Can be used as a menu item or accessed directly by the user when attempting to validate for a secure application.

LOGINREPLY

Login Reply

Used to provide welcome text to the user where the login application is used as an item on the menu.

LOGOUT

Logout

Enables users to end their current secure Callista Connect session without closing their web browser.

OD-SOA

On Demand Statement of Account Enables users to view their current fee status. The On Demand Statement of Account calls processes in COFI that provide for individual assessment. Based on the results of the individual process, the user is informed of their current fee status. This process creates temporary records which are removed when INTJ0021 is run.

OUTSTND-BAL

Outstanding Balance Inquiry

Enables users to view their fee information.

PAGEBUILD

Page Build

Used by the Web Administrator to build web pages.

PDDCT Maintain Person Delivery Destination Content Type

This function will enable a person to view the default content types for each recorded delivery type destination and to update the priority of each content type.

In cases where the delivery type destination is system defined, it will only be possible to view the default content types.

PDELTYPDST Record Person Delivery Type Destinations

This function will enable each student to record and update his or her message destination (address) details for each message delivery type.

Each destination will have a mandatory start date and an optional end date to define the effective date range. Multiple destinations with non-overlapping date ranges may be recorded for each message delivery type. In addition, multiple concurrent destinations may be recorded for a delivery type if it is configured to allow concurrent destinations.
A priority number will be recorded for each destination. This will be used where multiple destinations can handle the content type of a message. In such cases, the destination with the highest priority (i.e. lowest number) will be used to deliver the message
.

If the system delivery type is configured to allow shared priorities, it will be possible to record the same priority for multiple destinations so that messages will be delivered to all destinations.

PE-ADDRINQ

Person Address Inquiry

Displays the user's current and future addresses. The page only allows access to the address verification application if the verification software is FCS.

PE-ADDRUPD

Person Address Update

Enables a user to update address details.

PE-ADDRVER Person Address Insert, Update and Verification

When first accessed the user sees the Address Summary screen. This displays the student’s current and future addresses or where an address doesn’t exist, address group details. From this screen the user can choose to add a new address, update an existing address or end an address.

When a user creates a new address, or updates an existing address, the address is verified if an address verification interface has been defined. When an address is verified, a user will confirm the verified address, select an address from a list of verified addresses, or accept their keyed in address depending on the results of the verification software.

If the verification software is not defined, the entered address is inserted or updated in Callista. Once the address is inserted or updated, the user is returned to the Address Summary screen where the new address is displayed.

If an address is ended in the Summary screen, an end date is added to the person record and the user is displayed in the Summary screen with the ended address no longer appearing.

PE-CNCSSN Person Concession Application Enables a user to record details of a concession that may be applicable. This application is available as part of the Enrolment Steps and displays when the student is updating a course with an Enrolment Category that includes the Person Concession step.

PE-PERSON

Person Details Update

Enables a user to view their basic person details and update selected details (Preferred Name, Preferred Name Format and Email).

PE-PREFS

Person Preference Update

Enable users to apply their own web style to Callista Connect pages. Users must select from a set of institution provided styles.

PE-RESULT

Person Results Inquiry

Enables a user to view their current and past results. When displaying current results for a person, Callista Connect displays all the unit attempts/outcomes associated with the latest occurring academic year with finalised outcomes. Users also have the option of viewing all unit attempts and outcomes for a specified course by selecting a results history link.

The display of results can be controlled by the use of cohort process windows.

If a student has an encumbrance with the effect type RESULT_BLK, results are suppressed for unit attempt outcomes released on or after the encumbrance start date. The string BLOCK is displayed in the grade column. When selected, a customisable message box is displayed.

Unit attempts are sorted by academic year (descending) by teaching period start date (ascending) by unit code (ascending).

PE-RESSTAT Person Residence Statistics The purpose of this function is to enable students to update the Residency Code values for their Person Statistics record if they make a change to their address details in Student Connect.
PE-SERVICE Record Person Service Selections The purpose of this function is to enable students to use the Connect Self-Enrolment facility to record and update their choices regarding the use of/participation in certain services or activities offered by the institution.

PERSON-INQ

Person Inquiry Application (Generic)

This application provides generic person information. This is used for institution defined applications such as DECLARE or DISCLAIMER as part of the self-enrolment application, allowing context information to be displayed for the user.

The use of DECLARE and DISCLAIMER applications is optional depending on the enrolment steps used by the institution.

This application can be used for any institution defined applications where context information is to be provided to the user.

PR-UG-INS

Prior Undergraduate Institution List

Enables a user to select the undergraduate institution they may have previously studied at from an LOV as part of the GOVT-STATS application. The application is normally accessed via a search button in the Government Statistics application.

Data is sourced from STAF112I (Maintain Government Prior Education Codes).

PRG-STATUS

System Progression Status Inquiry

Provides a key to progression status codes. Explanations are sourced from System Progression Statuses in PRGF1300.

This application is normally accessed via the PROGRESSION STATUS link in the Course Completion Details application (CRSCMP-DTL).

PRNT-RCPT Print Receipts

Enables a user to print a receipt of their enrolment transactions. After a user has completed adding, deleting, and modifying units within the Shopping Cart and has submitted the changes to their current enrolment, the user can print a receipt of the transactions that they have just performed.

Actions applied to the shopping cart, are stored in the SCART_ITEM table. When the user applies these actions to their SUA, the SHOP_CART Completed Date is set. The print receipt application is then able to use this completed shopping cart to print a receipt of all actions completed. The current shopping cart for a user, is the record with completed date set to NULL.

When the user clicks the print button in the Receipt Confirmation screen, receipt no, date and student ID is stored in the new shopping cart table and all the unit codes and corresponding unit actions are stored in the new shopping cart item table and receipt screen will display.

PYMNT-RECV

Person Payments Received Inquiry

Displays all fees paid by the user.

RECEIPT Receipt Application This is a generic application that embeds receipts in the template of all existing Connect update Applications. Clients using the Callista Connect Developers Kit are able to embed this application in their own update applications.

REDIRECT

System Redirect

Gives the student a window screen (user-defined) while information requested is redirected. For example: the Redirect screen could say, 'Please wait while your request is being processed.'

Student Course Attempt Current Enrolment Inquiry

Enables a user to view details of all of their course attempts. Enrolled, inactive and intermitted courses are displayed first (in ascending course code order), followed by all other courses (in ascending course code order). Link to SUSA-CENR.

SCA-EX-UPD

Student Course Attempt Exam Location Update

Enables the user to update their nominated examination location.

SCASR [VET only] Record Student Course Attempt Study Reason

The purpose of this function is to enable a student to record or update their VET Student Course Attempt Study Reason Identifier via a separate step in the Connect Self-Enrolment process.

Navigation to the Study Reason step is enabled by selecting the Study Reason step link in the main self-enrolment menu (ENR-STEPS) or in the next/previous menu (ENR-NXTPRV).

SCA-STATUS

Student Course Attempt Status Inquiry

Provides a key to course attempt statuses. Explanations are sourced from System Course Attempt Status Notes in ENRF01P0. Opened via a link from course attempt status within other applications.

SCA-UPD

Student Course Attempt Maintenance

Enables a user to update certain details of their course attempt. Such as their nominated exam location, nominated completion year or inclusion in self-help groups.

SSU-CHGPWD

Change Callista Password

Enables users to change their password. Applicable only to the CALLISTAID authentication method.

STD-CRSINT

Student Course Intermission

Students may be allowed to temporarily suspend their enrolment in a course attempt. More rarely, the institution may require these attempts in a particular course version be suspended for a period of time. In either case, this is achieved by recording an intermission against a Student's course attempt, subject to certain conditions (for example, a Student may need to have studied a certain number of units in a course before intermission can be granted).

Setup is made in ENRF4160 Maintain Student Course Intermission.

Student Examination Instance

Enables users to view details of all their student unit attempt examinable assessment items.

SUA-CENR

Student Unit Attempt Current Enrolment Inquiry

Enables users to view details of all of their unit attempts within a specified course. Units are sorted by year (descending) by teaching period start date (ascending) by unit code.

SUA-RCPT Student Unit Attempt Maintenance Print Receipt Provides information on the Course, Status, Campus, etc, along with Transaction ID and Time for future reference.
SUA-SLFHLP Student Unit Attempt Self Help Inquiry Enables a Callista Connect user with an ENROLLED student unit attempt to view details of all other students enrolled in the context unit offering pattern who have their student course attempt 'self help' indicator set to 'Y'.

Provides a key to unit attempt statuses. Explanations are sourced from System Unit Attempt Status Notes in ENRF01Q0. Opened via a link from unit attempt status within other applications.

SUA-UPD

Student Unit Attempt Maintenance

Enables users to manage their enrolment within the Shopping Cart.

Depending on unit rules, course rules, system wide rules and cohort processing windows, users can add new units, change existing unit offering options, confirm pre-enrolled units, delete enrolled units, discontinue enrolled units and reinstate discontinued units.

The Shopping Cart displays the user’s Student ID, Given and Surname Name, Course Code and Course Title, and Course Status.

SUAAO-INQ

 

Student Inquiry on Existing Activity Allocations

Displays all accessible student unit attempts which have a status of ENROLLED or INVALID. Any activities that are currently selected by the student, and not logically deleted and ssf available will be returned for these units.

SUAAO-UPD

 

Student Unit Attempt Activity Offering Inquiry Displays all accessible student unit attempts which have a status of ENROLLED or INVALID. Any activities that are not logically deleted and ssf available will be returned for these units. All activities selected by the students or activities that are available to be allocated to the student, and associated with the student's units will be displayed in a generated list.

SUSA-CENR

Student Unit Set Attempt Current Enrolment Inquiry

Enables users to view details of all their unit set attempts for a specified course. Academic unit sets are listed before administrative unit sets. Within these two broad categories, unit sets are sorted by code within category. Link to Unit Set Enrolment (SUSA-ENR).

SUSA-ENR Student Unit Set Attempt Enrolment This function allows students to, View Unit Set Attempts; Add/Cancel Unit Sets selected from the available list of Unit Sets; Access Unit Set Selection and Maintain their Unit Set Enrolment by; Confirming enrolled Unit Set Attempts; Reinstating End Dated Unit Set Attempts and Update Unit Set Attempts.

UNIT-CLASS

Unit Class Inquiry

Provides an explanation of unit class codes. Opened by a link from unit attempt classes within other applications.

UNIT-LEVEL

Unit Level Inquiry

Provides an explanation of unit level codes. Explanations are sourced form Unit Levels in CRSF2140. Opened by a link from unit level within other applications.

UNIT-SRCH

Unit Search Engine

Enables the user to search by Unit Code(s) or by using Advanced Search options. The Advanced Unit Search function allows a user to search for a Unit based on Unit Title, Unit Level, Enrolled Credit Point, Academic Period, Teaching Period, Campus, Class, and/or Faculty/School.

The Shopping Cart will display a Basic Unit Search text field and a link to the Advanced Unit Search function. The Unit Search function includes t he ability to flag any of the search fields as mandatory and the ability to set default values for any of the search fields.

UOO-SELECT

Unit Offering Option Selection

Displays the unit offering options retrieved according to the search criteria entered in the unit search application (UNIT-SRCH).

Users can then select unit offering options to add to their student course attempt, or modify a unit offering option they have already selected. For example: changing to the off campus version of a unit.

USERDEF

User Defined

The user can define how to change the appearance of windows to meet their own requirements.

US-SELECT

Select Unit Set

This function allows a student to select one or more unit sets that may be added to their enrolment. The student will select a unit set/s from a list of non enrolled unit sets. The selection/s will be returned to the Unit Set Maintenance function and the student will then add them to their enrolment. This function is accessed from Student Unit Attempt Enrolment (SUSA-ENR).

VETSTATS [VET only] Record Vet Person Statistics

The purpose of this function is to enable a student to record or update their VET Person Statistics details via a separate step in the Connect Self-Enrolment process.

Navigation to the VET Statistics step is enabled by selecting the VET Statistics step link in the main self-enrolment menu (ENR-STEPS) or in the next/previous menu (ENR-NXTPRV), in context of a Person ID and Course Code.

If the student has a current VET Person Statistics record and has existing Person Disability records, current details are displayed and may be updated.

Note: If a person's At School flag is Y (i.e. is still attending school), the Highest Completed School Level cannot be 'Did not go to School' (i.e. cannot be mapped to a Government School Level Completed of 02).
