This form is used to map an institution defined application to a web page (and its application) in order to enforce security over the entire content of the web page rather than only the application within the page.

Normally, without this structure in place, the login process only protects the application in a page, thus making it possible for users to see other page contents (such as special instructions and links) before authentication has been achieved.

Security over the entire web page content can be achieved by creating a USERDEF application in Maintain Self Serve Applications (SSFF1100), mapping it to the target web page, and specifying a web login page code in Maintain Self Serve Configuration (SSFF1200). Users then see only the login page until they have successfully authenticated and gain access to the target web page containing the application and other page elements.

Web page mapping is also used to group a set of web pages (containing applications) within an overarching USERDEF application. The grouped pages are consequently controlled by the parent application's security attributes. For example, an overarching application called ENROLMENT may be created and mapped to a group of web pages each containing an Enrolment Application, such as Student Course Attempt Inquiry, Unit Enrolment and Address Change. Each of these pages and their applications inherit the security attributes of the parent ENROLMENT application.

Features of this form:

A different web login page can be defined for each mapped (application) page. This login page is displayed before the mapped page rather than the global web login page defined in SSFF1200. If no web login page is listed for the mapped page, the global login page is used to protect the application page.

The form can be accessed via a menu and a query performed to retrieve a Self Serve Application. However, the form is generally accessed in the context of a Self Serve Application via the WEB Page Mapping navigation button in SSFF1100.

To create a Self Serve Application mapping for the context Self Serve Application, select Web Page Code from the LOV.

Web Ppage Codes are created and maintained in the Page Builder functionality within the Web Administrator.

Selecting the Login Page check box and a Login Web Page Code allows the user to specify the login page that protects the content of the web page according to the following:

i. If the Login Page check box is selected and a Login Web Page Code is not specified, the global login page specified in SSFF1200 is displayed before the target page, thus protecting its content until authentication has been achieved.

ii. If the Login Page check box is selected and a Login Web Page Code is also specified, the specified login page is displayed before the target page, rather than the global page specified in SSFF1200.

Rules/Notes:

Application pages cannot be mapped to a Self Serve Application if the application is already associated with one or more pages in the Web Administrator Page Builder. That is, the application cannot be used both as content in a page (via Page Builder) and to group pages (via SSFF1110).

The Web Page Code and the Login Web Page Code cannot be the same.
