Many courses at CDU have professional placement components where you'll have the opportunity to experience working in your industry or area of study and gain credit points. Your placement might also be referred to as a practical, prac or work-integrated learning.
The information below is mainly relevant to Higher Education students, as TAFE students typically have practical components throughout their whole course.

Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) - available from July 2025
In the 2024-2025 Budget, the Australian Government announced the introduction of the CPP to support students with the costs of completing mandatory placement units. This financial assistance will be available from July 2025.
Key details:
- The Government will soon release Program Guidelines that will explain how universities, including CDU, will administer the CPP.
- Once these guidelines are available, we will provide students with clear instructions on how to access the payment.
