The CDU Confucius Institute is offering Chinese zither (guzheng) introductory workshops on the CDU Casuarina campus every Wednesday from 5 pm - 6.30 pm, starting on 5 March to 23 April.
The intermediate Guzheng performance course will build on the content of the beginner course through the pieces Jingle Bells, and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Students will then explore more distinctive guzheng techniques through the Chinese folk songs, A Stream Flows Gently《小河淌水》and Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon《彩云追月》. These techniques will also open the door to discovering and performing a broader repertoire of guzheng pieces.
Eight sessions will be delivered.
