David holds qualifications in major AND hospital incident medical management and support, is a qualified trainer, and is a Registered Emergency Department Nurse, graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing from CDU in 2020.

He is the Regional Organiser for the Queensland Nurses and Midwives Union, was previously the State Operation Coordinator (North) for St John Ambulance QLD, and in his free time he works with a private medical company as a Registered Nurse and flight nurse, where he supports and teaches student nurses and paramedics patient care, communication, and disaster management skills.

During COVID times, David worked closely with Thursday Island First Nation nurses to advocate for their voice to be heard in relation to the creation of a first nations led vaccine rollout, an award winning program that fundamentally saved countless lives.

David has recently been admitted to the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem for his humanity and disaster management work with St John Ambulance.
