We develop caring, resourceful practitioners who can think outside the box. Unlike big city institutions, we know all our students personally, and we have a focus on healthcare in challenging environments.
Multi-disciplinary health care
Our pharmacy academics are some of the best. They'll teach you the decision-making skills to identify and manage complex therapeutic problems within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. You'll learn to develop individual healthcare plans for patients with complex conditions, focusing on self-management.
Placements
Pharmacy has an emphasis on Indigenous health, as well as rural and remote pharmacy. Students undertake work placements in community pharmacies, hospitals and rural clinics through our nine-week practical experience program.
Master of Pharmacy
The pharmacy course will prepare you for entry into the pharmacy profession. Pharmacists have an expanding scope of practice that includes the provision of advice and support to prescribers in multiple practice settings to ensure the community has timely access to the safest and most appropriate medicines, in public health by improving health literacy and access to vaccinations, the discovery of new medicines, and tailoring medicines to individuals.

Career pathways
Pharmacy graduates have a wide range of rewarding career options and opportunities. Most graduates opt for careers as community or hospital pharmacists. Other options include clinical roles in General Practice and Aboriginal Medical Services, careers in the pharmaceutical industry, research and teaching, scientific writing, and leadership and advocacy.
The demand for registered pharmacists is expected to continue, especially in regional and remote areas of Australia, and Pharmacists are listed on the Northern Territory skills gap register.
Prize giving
The Faculty of Health awards prizes to the highest achieving students in the Master of Pharmacy. We look forward to celebrating with students at our annual prize giving ceremony.
