What our students can expect

A qualification with Charles Darwin University gives you the skills and knowledge to make you employable anywhere in the world. We offer an education that equips you for success through practical training, global study opportunities and innovative courses delivered by experts at the top of their fields.

With a low staff-to-student ratio, we give you the chance to interact more easily with your classmates and academic staff. You’re not just a number at CDU, and when you have such close contact with your teachers and peers, you can have in-depth discussions and ask questions more freely. CDU will equip you with the expertise and graduate attributes needed to achieve your full potential within the global community.

Placements for work-integrated learning

Placements allow students to gain practical skills and knowledge as a part of their study. This is an opportunity to apply academic learning in a real workplace environment to further develop skills and competency.

Prize giving

Awarded for academic merit and service, academic prizes recognise outstanding achievements for students across different disciplines within our Faculty. Prizes deliver immediate and long-term benefits for students and our entire community.

We host an annual prize-giving ceremony at the end of Semester 1.

Most awards are donated by our generous sponsors who continue to support us and inspire students to reach their highest potential. Many of our alumni, industry partners and friends of the University support and encourage high-achieving students at CDU by making gifts that fund our prize giving program.

If you would like to support an annual prize, please get in touch by emailing denis.doan@cdu.edu.au.

Student experience of learning and teaching surveys

The Charles Darwin University is committed to the continuous enhancement of student learning experiences and outcomes and the quality of learning and teaching, and to promoting a culture of learning and teaching excellence through regular review of the student body via SELT surveys.

The University places critical importance on feedback from students and uses SELT surveys alongside other sources of evidence of quality, to inform learning and teaching enhancement, for the reward and recognition of staff, and for staff performance, review and management.
