Studying her master’s degree in occupational therapy, Malia’s set to fulfill her goal of becoming an occupational therapist. Study combined with personal life experience means she’ll be very well qualified.

Arriving in Australia as a backpacker from China, Samantha worked in restaurant kitchens to earn a living. The kindness of the chefs she worked with inspired her to take her next steps towards her dream career.

Shailee was unsure about her future after finishing high school, but through a traineeship with NEC, she has successfully completed a certificate in information technology. This led to a full-time job and a nomination in the 2020 Northern Territory Training Awards.

After spending time working in the hospitality industry during her gap year, Zoe decided it was time to upskill with a vocational training course in hospitality and event management. In just two years, she's finished three TAFE qualifications and is a finalist in the NT Training Awards. 

From bank teller to youth worker, Luke could be considered the jack of all trades! However, his decision to push himself further has brought him back into the world of study, this time to gain vocational training qualifications in business. 

John Hogarth is no stranger to digging in the dirt. For 14 years he worked fly-in-fly-out worker in the civil and mining sector. But when long hours and a grueling FIFO roster took their toll, he knew it was time for a change. 

Zach Davis has a passion for working with cars. Through CDU’s VET for Secondary Students, Zach was able to start studying a Light Automotive Certificate whilst he was in high school. After graduating, he went to the Gold Coast 600 to work with the Red Bull Holden Racing team.

When Debra Hutcheson started her career at entry level with the Northern Territory Government, she knew she wanted to achieve more. Studying at CDU was just the thing she needed to make an impression and rise up the ranks. 

The lure of Europe was strong for Marc when he finished high school, so off he went. After a few years of travelling on a budget and being away from family, he decided it was time head home and get a trade.
