Business was always in the blood for Nicholas, but he knew he didn’t want to follow in his family's footsteps. He felt hospitality and the food industry calling out to him. Similarly, Tran has loved cooking since she was a little girl. It didn’t take either of them very long to decide to study commercial cookery at CDU.

Starting a Certificate III in Fitness was a no-brainer for Nikki. Already working full-time for the NT Government, Nikki discovered a growing passion for health and fitness and knew the best way to explore it was through CDU.

A proud Tiwi Islands man, Jahdai Vigona is giving back to his community through his work at the Menzies School of Health Research. By starting a VET traineeship, Jahdai not only became the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year, but he also opened up a world of opportunities for his future. 

Without finishing high school, Wendy moved to the NT and started working in hospitality. Her decision to study a VET course at CDU inspired a love of learning, followed by a love of teaching. Turns out, she's pretty good at it! 

Nature lover Chloe lives in Humpty Doo and juggles her job at a plant nursery, her daughter, and her studies at CDU. She may be from Paris, but this horticulture student has set up roots in the Top End.

When Loan Nguyen started selling cosmetics online while studying English, she gained a whole new appreciation of the beauty industry and wanted to learn more. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion and CDU was the answer to help her career soar.

When Yuliia first moved to Australia from Europe, she was forced to overcome many challenges. It was studying at Charles Darwin University that gave her a new lease on life and helped her to regain her confidence in the workforce.
