HART Lab

"Draws on humanities and arts, interdisciplinary teaching and research approaches to link creative and critical thinking and apply empathy and emotional intelligence to ideas and outputs in a post-pandemic, sensitive and unsure world".

Aims

The Human Arts Teaching Lab (HARTLab) is a collective of social scientists, artists, creatives, and teachers informing each other’s research and design methodology to create the world we want. In the context of learning, HARTLAB values all human beings and all forms of life on Earth. Developing the world we want means that thinking and feeling are not mutually exclusive, but closely aligned in the development of ideas, curriculum design, and artistic expression. Our expertise draws on humanities and arts, interdisciplinary teaching and research approaches to link creative and critical thinking while applying empathy and emotional intelligence to ideas and outputs in a post-pandemic, sensitive and unsure world.

Partnerships

ART Lab includes members from a cross-section of Faculties at CDU, artists and writers from the community, and scholars from other labs around the world.
