Honorary Awards
The Council of the University is empowered under section 26 of the Charles Darwin University Act to grant honorary degrees and titles. Honorary awards and titles are presented to distinguished people who have made a significant contribution to the community or to the University.
Honorary awards and titles are conferred by the University Council on the recommendation of the Nominations, Honorary Awards and Legislation Committee. Honorary awards are normally presented at a Graduation Ceremony.
The Honorary Awards Procedure was instituted to guide the decision-making process.
