CDU Art collaborations and engagement

The  Academy of the Arts is open to engaging with the community, the creative industries and academic partners.

Please contact us at artsacademy@cdu.edu.au if you’d like to discuss ideas for collaboration.

Community and industry

The Academy of the Arts connects with numerous community and industry organisations. Some of our long-standing collaborators include the Darwin Symphony Orchestra, the Darwin Chorale and the Darwin Festival. We are in regular conversation with Arts NT, Music NT and Screen Territory.

Academic partners

Academics in CDU’s Academy of the Arts network with arts institutions and departments across Australia and internationally. We are keen to develop collaborations in teaching, research and creative practice.

Remix: a collaboration with Darwin Festival

Darwin festival remix

Attack, decay, sustain, release. The language of music production and live performance resonates through visual arts practice. Remix is the amplification, distortion, attenuation, tone generator and audacity of a new generation of Visual Arts students within the Charles Darwin University Academy of the Arts.

A polyphonic paste-up of fluorescent Risographic posters, Remix is a multitimbral, dissonant chorus, sampled from texts, popular-culture and Creative Commons. Experience the work around Festival Lawn or join in a RISO workshop and create posters for the installation.
