Strategic direction

We aim to become a world-leading contemporary Academy of the Arts, built on First Nations engagement, high-impact education, artistic excellence, creative practice as research and community, and creative sector support.

Focus areas:

  1. Extend engagement with First Nations artists, teachers and scholars, and Academy of the Arts.
  2. Increase the number of regional, national and international students participating in CDU’s Academy of Arts high-quality teaching programs at Short Course, VET, Degree and Postgraduate levels through clear pathways.
  3. Collaborate with diverse arts institutions and the creative industries sector
    • to raise the profile of the arts at CDU and in the NT,
    • to ensure career opportunities for graduates and
    • to build vibrant arts programs that engage students, staff and community, particularly on our campuses in the NT and with outreach across Australia and into the Southeast Asian region.
  4. Develop external and internal funding avenues to rejuvenate staffing, facilities, equipment and programs.
  5. Promote and advance research in the creative arts through innovative programs and projects that build on the values of CDU.
