Come and join our Tai Chi Baduanjin class offered at CDU Confucius Institute!
Our teacher, Mr Hanlin Lu, holds a Master of Physical Education degree from Anhui Normal University, majoring in Physical Education Teaching. Hanlin possesses extensive teaching experience, specialising in many Tai Chi forms, such as Yang-style and Chen-style Tai Chi, Five-Animal Frolics, as well as other forms of health Qigong.
Originating from the Song Dynasty, Baduanjin (Eight-Section Brocades) fitness practice is a classic health preservation exercise with a thousand-year-old wisdom. The word "Jin (Brocade)" describes its gentle and smooth movements. It is easy to learn and you can practice it anywhere, anytime.
By practising through eight movements such as "Raising hands to support the sky to regulate the triple burner" and "Drawing the bow left and right like shooting a hawk", it can help to stretch our muscles and bones, unblock the meridians, and relieve shoulder and neck stiffness, as well as lower back pain caused by prolonged sitting. Slow-paced practice can regulate breathing, calm the mind, reduce anxiety and mental stress, and improve physical coordination and concentration.
Sign up now and join us to learn standard movements from CDU CI professional instructors!
Suitable for beginners of all ages.
* Please note that these sessions are Ba Duan Jin practice sessions. If you have concerns around your physical ability to participate in these sessions, please consult your health practitioner prior to attending one of these sessions.
Cost: $45, this would include the cost of the Tai Chi costume and would give access to all 4 Tai Chi classes.
