Studying in Australia

Arriving from Vietnam, Tho studied a Master of Information Technology with CDU while working as a business analyst. She credits her parents’ influence for her motivation to learn and succeed.

While spending her early career as a research assistant studying malaria at the Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology (EIMB) in Jakarta, Nadia became aware of the work being done by our own Menzies School of Health Research on the disease.

Born and raised in a small village in Sri Lanka, Thisari was encouraged by her family to pursue a career in science. However, after completing a Bachelor of Biological Science, she set out to pursue a passion of her own: information technology.

Visakh has always enjoyed creativity and problem solving. When choosing his future career, studying engineering made perfect sense.

Arriving in Australia from Ho Chi Minh City, Jolin was passionate about furthering her career and expanding on her existing skills. Since studying Master of Professional Accounting at CDU she hasn’t looked back. 

During the pandemic, Sushan didn’t let Australia’s closed borders slow him down. He started studying Master of Business Administration Sustainable Leadership with CDU online. As soon as he was able, Sushan arrived in Darwin to undertake his studies on campus. 

After completing a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering in India, Kalyani quickly worked her way up to a leadership position at a local outsourcing organisation. Here, she noticed one critical factor to the ongoing operations of the organisation: information technology.

After growing up in Slovakia, Ema was keen to explore the rest of the world. Ema visited Darwin and instantly fell in love with the city and all its uniqueness.  

When the pandemic hit in early 2020, it put a stop to Stella’s working holiday around Australia. But that change in plans led her to postgraduate study in nutrition at CDU and now, Stella calls the Northern Territory home.
