You might look at a list of Karita McCarthy’s recent accomplishments and think that studying comes naturally to her. As a Bachelor of Nursing student at CDU, Karita has certainly had a string of successes. But it wasn’t always that way...

Margaret began her online law degree at Charles Darwin University with a one-year-old on her knee, and had her second child in her second semester of study. As well as winning eight awards and two scholarships, she graduated in only four years, with first class honours.

Alisha has always dreamed of becoming a teacher and she wasn't about to let remote living stop her from studying a teaching degree. Rather, she embraced the opportunity to study teaching online, while building a fulfilling career - and life.

Studying a Master of Teaching at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus, with the aim to graduate in 2021, Coco Chan has embraced her new life in Australia. 

CDU alumni Talea Cotte completed a Bachelor of Midwifery online from her home in Perth while raising three young children and working part-time. Upon finishing high school, Talea trained as a hairdresser but realised soon after the birth of her first baby that she wanted to become a midwife.

Genevieve McGuiness has always known that she wanted a career working with and helping others. She chose a Bachelor of Social Work with CDU because she's able to study externally (online) from home, while she juggles her own small business and two young children.  

Daniel had a career in banking, but after eight years he realised that it wasn't the career for him. He shares how he decided to put passion ahead of profession, and study his hobby.
