CDU offers online engineering degrees, meaning you don’t have to be on campus or even in the Northern Territory to participate in our engineering program.

We’ve been delivering online education for decades, and our expert engineering lecturers are dedicated to offering the same support and attention to students studying engineering online as their on-campus peers.

Our online learning platform, known as Learnline, is where you’ll find your recorded lectures and tutorials, online labs, simulations, learning materials and communication tools for interacting with your classmates and teachers. The flexibility of an engineering degree at CDU includes choosing between full-time and part-time study, with the ability to switch between the two if needed.

Your career in engineering

Mechanical engineering students

Engineers create the physical world we live in and work to find better, more efficient ways to do things. From the tunnels we drive through and the apps on our mobile phones all the way to the pill-sized camera used to diagnose internal medical issues, engineers influence many aspects of our modern lives. As such, there are many career pathways for engineering students to explore.

Our engineering courses include undergraduate study and diploma level study, both of which will help you gain a qualification in this in-demand field.

You will likely pursue a career that’s relevant to your specialisation. The streams available in the Bachelor of Engineering Science include civil and structural, electrical and electronics, and mechanical engineering. There is often an overlap of knowledge between specialisations so our engineering students gain a general understanding of several engineering areas and strong foundational knowledge of the discipline.

CDU graduates apply their creative and innovative thinking to real-world issues, from the unique challenges we face in the Northern Territory to systems and designs across a whole spectrum of industries, both in Australia and internationally.
