Dr Abel Dadi

Dr. Abel is a researcher at the Centre for Child Development and Education (CCDE) at Menzies School of Health Research. Abel is currently working on a range of studies in the areas of childhood early development, mid-year school outcomes, and maternal mental health and perinatal outcomes using large-scale, linked, administrative data.

Dr. Abel’s previous experience includes maternal and child health, nutrition, chronic and infectious diseases, and mental health. Abel has experience in teaching and mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate health science students.

He is currently co-supervising a PhD student working on “Joint occurrence of maternal and paternal perinatal depression and its effect on adverse birth and infant health and nutritional outcomes”, a collaboration with University of Gondar, Ethiopia. Abel is a mixed-method researcher, and is experienced in using both basic and advanced statistical methods, designing epidemiological studies, and systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
