My main area of research includes chronic disease malnutrition in adult hospital patients. Research impact includes the development and validation of the first malnutrition screening tool specifically for an Indigenous population (Aboriginal Australian and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples). This screening tool has been implemented into clinical practice in Central Australia both in hospital and community health care settings. This research received NHMRC and Bellberry postgraduate funding. Experience in research supervision for Honours, Master's by Research, and PhD students from various disciplines.
