Overview
The Master of Project Management will give you the skills and knowledge to successfully manage complex projects in the modern world. You'll learn to plan, prioritise and manage teams and resources for large and small scale projects whilst overcoming challenges and mitigating risks. This master's degree will give you the tools to efficiently and effectively manage projects across any industry.
Through practical placement experience in the second year of study, you'll have the opportunity to put your learning into practice and develop skills in adaptability and leadership. Professional experience includes 300 hours of professional practice related activity, which may include virtual or online activity.
Career opportunities
Graduating from this course may lead to a career as a Project Manager, Program Manager, Project Officer or Project Consultant.
Practical experience
You will complete a minimum of 300 hours of work placement (professional experience) over 12 weeks.
Professional recognition
The Master of Project Management is designed to meet the accreditation requirements of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) and Project Management Institute (PMI).

International tuition fees
The annual tuition fee for full time study in 2025 is AUD $34,720.00. This equates to $ $4,340.00 per 10 credit point unit (0.125 EFTSL).
These fees are subject to increases annually, effective at the start of each calendar year.

What will I study?
The course consists of core units, placement and elective units. The core units of this course will teach you project management concepts and skills. In the second year of study, the students will have a placement unit to prepare them for professional practice.
Course structure
The course stresses the importance of theory and the application of theory in practice through projects and practical exercises.
A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 160 credit points (cp) as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise indicated.

Course Changes:
- BUS505 Design Thinking for Sustainable Innovation has been replaced by PRT596 Human Centred Artificial Intelligence.
- ACT501 Sustainable Enterprise has been replaced by PRT531 Business Intelligence and Data Mining.
- PRT604 Professional Experience has been replaced by PRT603 Professional Practice for Project Management (20cp).
Transition Arrangements:
- Students who have completed PRT604 Professional Experience should not complete PRT603 Professional Practice for Project Management (20cp).
- Students who have completed ACT501 Accounting Principles should not complete PRT531 Business Intelligence and Data Mining.
- Students who have completed PRT604 and ACT501 prior to 2025 will have these units counted towards their core unit requirements.

Entry requirements
Admission criteria
Successful completion of a recognised bachelor degree, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, master's degree, or equivalent international qualification.
International entry pathway
Applicants who have completed the CDU English for Academic Purposes 4 (ZEAP40) or the Accelerated International Masters Qualifying Program (ZAMQP2, ZAMQP1) are eligible for entry.

The minimum English language requirement for this course is met by either undertaking previous education from an English-speaking country or undertaking one of the following English language tests and obtaining the minimum requirements listed below.
