Overview
Our Graduate Certificate of Midwifery Studies is an innovative course for registered midwives wishing to return to study. During the course, you'll examine and reflect on your midwifery practice and have the freedom to create a tailored study program by selecting from a wide-range of units.
Available 100% online, this flexible course was designed with the busy midwife in mind. You'll have access to 24/7 technical and academic support, an easy-to-use online learning platform, and phone, email and video communication, so you can study when it suits you.
On finishing the course, you'll hold a postgraduate qualification (which can help to advance your career in management, leadership, education or research roles) and/or use your Graduate Certificate as a pathway to further study should you wish to complete a Master's degree.

The Graduate Certificate in Midwifery Studies will build upon foundational knowledge and clinical experience to develop critical thinking and decision making. Completion of post graduate education is a necessity for a wide range of career advances such as management, leadership or education roles or academic or research positions. On completion of the Graduate Certificate of Midwifery Studies, you may progress to the Master of Midwifery, with advanced standing of completed studies.

Commonwealth Supported places are available in this course to students who meet one of the following residency requirements:
(a) be an Australian citizen, who will complete some of your course of study while resident in Australia; or
(b) a New Zealand citizen; or an Australian permanent visa holder; or an eligible former permanent humanitarian visa holder; who studies the entire course while living in Australia.

Applicants must hold current registration as a registered midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

The minimum English language requirement for this course is met by either undertaking previous education from an English-speaking country or undertaking one of the following English language tests and obtaining the minimum requirements listed below.

| TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT) | A minimum overall score of 79 with a minimum writing score of 21. |
