CDU-NTG PhD Projects with scholarships

Expressions of interest to supervisor by 17 July 2024
CDU-NTG PhD scholarship

Work in collaboration with an NT Government partner department on a project or local relevance. These projects include a 60-day internship (full-time or part-time) with the partner organisation during the degree. Internship details will be negotiated once the project commences. 

Expressions of interest to supervisor by 17 July 2024 for commencement by 30 August 2024

The scholarships are provided to assist with general living costs.

  • AU$32,192 (2024 rate) per annum tax-free for full-time students, paid in fortnightly instalments.
  • AU$16,096 (2024 rate) per annum, taxable, for part-time students, paid in fortnightly instalments.

Note: A First Nations top-up scholarship is available in addition to the above. This top-up stipend is $ 10,000 per annum if enrolled full-time, or $5,000 per annum for part-time candidates, paid in fortnightly instalments. 

Additional benefits include:

  • paid sick leave
  • maternity leave
  • relocation allowance. The relocation allowance (if applicable) for RTP stipend recipients is up to $2,000 for domestic students. Conditions apply.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must be:

  • an Australian Citizen, an Australian Permanent Resident; or a New Zealand Citizen 
  • eligible to enrol in a PhD, as defined by these guidelines
  • able to commence between between 1 and 30 August 2024  (earlier start date may be negotiable)
  • First Class honours (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline 
  • experience and/ qualifications, and interest in similar fields of education/research as the project
  • willing and able to undertake an eligible HDR internship with the research end-user of 60 days or more (details to be negotiated)

How to apply?

To submit an expression of interest to the CDU supervisor including the following:

  • Brief cover letter outlining your interest, relevant experience and willingness to undertake an HDR internship.
  • Brief Curriculum Vitae.  
  • Academic transcript showing honours result or equivalent.

This scholarship is available only for domestic students, please refer to the scholarships for international students.
