Students at Charles Darwin University will be armed with clippers and coloured hairspray to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation’s 20th annual World’s Greatest Shave.

People who opt to lop their locks won’t be disappointed, with VET Hair and Beauty students and lecturers on hand in the Breezeway at Casuarina campus from 9am – 2pm on Wednesday, 14 March.

Student Ambassador Russel Kundu, a third year Law student, said he was excited to take part in the public event, raising funds to support Australians with blood cancer.

“I plan to shave my beard and get a short back and sides,” he said. “I would love to see lines of people eagerly waiting to have their hair shaved or coloured.

“We are hoping to get staff, students and people from the wider community involved – come down and join us.”

The Student Ambassadors won a trophy in the NT Top 3 Education Industry Challenge after raising $1800 in the 2017 World’s Greatest Shave.

This year’s event will include a bake sale, with all money raised going to the Leukaemia Foundation.

The CDU Clubs Carnival, showcasing groups and societies available to students, also will be held on the day.
