The university received the Austrade Education and Training Award for outstanding innovation and international success in the field of education and training services, expertise and curriculum including vocational training.
International Strategy and Development Director Monica Turvey said the award was gratifying and recognition of CDU’s growth as a world-class education provider. The award also acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the international office team.
“CDU exports the delivery of high-quality research, education and training in more than 75 nationally and internationally recognised and accredited programs, in multiple study locations across Australia,” Ms Turvey said.
“In 2013/2014 the university recorded a growth in excess of 40 per cent in international enrolments compared with the previous year.”
Ms Turvey said that with more than 1500 international students currently enrolled in PhD, masters and bachelor programs and in VET courses, CDU was the leading education services exporter in the Northern Territory.
“Our international students come from more than 50 different countries, a proud achievement for CDU that now has one of the most diverse on-campus international student populations in Australia.”
CDU is currently ranked in the top two per cent of universities in the world and in the top 100 universities in world less than 50 years old.
Ms Turvey said that international student Dhan Kumar Malla from Nepal was also commended in the International Business Student of the Year Award for outstanding achievement by a student studying international business in the Northern Territory.
