Charles Darwin University has featured in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings for 2014/15, which ranks the world’s top 800 universities.

High-impact scientific and technological research is a key driver of leadership in the QS World University Rankings which aim to help students make informed comparisons between their international study options.

The ranking process compares universities across four broad areas of interest to prospective students: research, teaching, employability and international outlook. Charles Darwin University is ranked in the top 551-600 of participating universities.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Professor Lawrence Cram said CDU had performed particularly well in the area of international students, achieving a score of 80 per cent and a ranking of 133.

First compiled in 2004, the QS World University Rankings considers more than 3000 institutions, and ranks more than 800. CDU participated in the QS World Rankings for the first time in 2013.

As well as exploring the world's top 800 universities, the ranking allow for comparisons of universities in a specific region, by subject area, or based on factors such as reputation or research citations.
