Professor Mitchell Byrne

As a clinical and forensic psychologist, Mitchell has a broad interest in a variety of applied areas of research. These include: enhancing adherence to treatments; trauma, trauma reactions and resilience; autism and inclusive practices; diet and behaviour; brief interventions in early psychosis; suicide prevention; and consumer behaviour and antimicrobial resistance.

The results of his research have been implemented across Australia, the United States, the UK and the Republic of Ireland. He has been a lead researcher on category 1 grants and the recipient of the Autism Spectrum Australia (ASPECT) National Recognition Advancement Award and the Australian Psychology Society National Best PhD thesis award.
