Charles Darwin University has won the people’s choice award for the most outstanding display at the recent Skills, Employment and Careers Expo in Darwin.

CDU won the Best Exhibitor award from more than 120 exhibitors for a second consecutive year at the annual two-day event, receiving a Paul Arnold photographic print as the prize.

Student Recruitment and Events Manager Marissa Briston said a record crowd attended this year’s event and visitors enjoyed the large number of helpful staff, interactive displays and course information available at the CDU stall.

Ms Briston said a highlight was the recreational boat and safety craft promoting courses for jobs in the maritime industry, along with food demonstrations and virtual simulators.

“This has been one of our most successful careers expos to date and we are very excited to have won this award,” Ms Briston said.

“The wonderful volunteer staff and students from CDU really helped make this a great event.”

She said her team, Student Ambassadors, and Vocational Education and Training and academic staff worked hard to promote CDU’s wide range of Higher Education and VET courses.

More than 3500 people attended the event.

CDU offers more than 350 VET and Higher Education in-classroom and online courses.
