Community radio station 104.1 Territory FM is bringing superior sound to the wider Darwin region with its newly installed transmitter.

The new Elenos TX transmitter has enhanced the quality of reception to listeners in Darwin, Palmerston and the rural area.

Territory FM Manager Jih Seymour said a Transmission Support Grant from the Community Broadcasting Foundation helped the station secure its new transmitter.

“We know our Darwin and Palmerston listeners are enjoying vastly improved sound quality and we welcome back all our rural friends!” Mr Seymour said.

The station’s former transmitter, the Harris TX, has been put to rest after 15 years.

“The old transmitter had suffered many lightning strikes over the years and, though we fought hard to keep it running and replaced many parts, it was finally laid to rest,” Mr Seymour said.

Territory FM operates under a licence held by Charles Darwin University and can be heard on 104.1 FM.
