HR specialist to head new directorate
A human resources specialist who has been part of transforming some of Australia’s major organisations is about to join Charles Darwin University as the Director of People and Capability.
Ms Jill Adams, who until recently was Group Human Resources Manager for the Active Group of Companies, will start in the role at CDU on August 15.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor of CDU, Professor Lawrence Cram, welcomed the appointment, saying Ms Adams had an impressive career in leading human resources and transformation within complex organisations and across geographically dispersed locations.
“Given that CDU’s 11 campuses and centres stretch from Darwin in the North to Melbourne in the south, the structure of our organisation as one with which Ms Adams is particularly comfortable,” Professor Cram said.
Before joining the Active Group of Companies, one of Australia’s largest vegetation management companies, Ms Adams managed human resources and transformation initiatives across the Customer Service Directorate for Sydney Trains.
In this capacity, she drove and embedded the strategic reform agenda across the Directorate.
Ms Adams said she looked forward to taking up the position at CDU and that her background meant she was well placed to help implement the university’s newly released strategic plan, entitled Connect Discover Grow.
She has worked previously at Spotless, Pacific Brands, Franklins Supermarkets and Telstra Corporation.
