CDU bid to snag record on discovery day
VET butchery staff will attempt to fashion the Territory’s longest sausage on a day of fun, festivity and discovery at Casuarina campus this month.
Events Officer Dean Dempsey said everyone was invited to Discover CDU to explore, to reflect and to dream of a future filled with possibility.
“Join us on a journey of discovery and find out where CDU can take you,” Mr Dempsey said.
“It won’t matter whether you’re thinking about studying for the first time or whether you’re looking to further your learning journey, we’ll have staff on hand to answer all the questions.”
Mr Dempsey said it would be a day of campus tours, informative talks, displays, interactive workshops and activities.
“You’ll get to meet some of our researchers and see their work in the field of Health, Education, Economics, the Environment and a host of other areas.
“Hands-on activities will include barramundi feeding and print-making.”
Mr Dempsey said the four-hour Discover CDU event would be the perfect opportunity to see what makes the Territory’s university such a unique place to study.
“We’ll take visitors on a guided tour of our hidden gems such as the Chinese Gardens, Territory FM, Art Gallery, the Trades Training Centre and other teaching facilities.
“Visitors will be able to graze the day away at the many food stalls. We will also fire up the barbie for a super sausage sizzle the likes of which has never been seen before.”
Discover CDU will take place on Sunday 19 August from 10am to 2pm. Darwin Bus Service will provide free travel to Casuarina campus from 9am to 3pm.
