Graduating with an MBA has skyrocketed Ellie’s career
During her Master of Business Administration (MBA), Ellie worked as an intern at Hilton Hotels. This experience gave her a head start on her career.
“Through my internship, I built relationships with lots of colleagues in the industry,” says Ellie. “The skill set and experience I gained helped me to land my current job as the marketing officer at Chartair.”
For Ellie, working in the airline industry is new. However, she’s quickly settled in and is continually learning.
“I’ve learned so much from my colleagues and have exposed myself to a lot of digital marketing skillsets which will be valuable to my career growth and development.”
Choosing Darwin
Ellie has travelled to other parts of Australia, but when choosing where to study, her heart was set on Darwin.
“Darwin offers great educational opportunities and a laid-back lifestyle,” says Ellie.
“The work culture here is unique and different from the rest of Australia. Our office is very relaxed, and we always try to have fun.”
Outside of work hours, Ellie loves to visit the local beauty spots. A particular favourite is East Point where she goes to watch the sunsets.
“The welcoming multicultural community here reminds me of home,” she says, “And I love the variety of foods to try.”
Being connected
Darwin’s welcoming and inclusive nature has helped Ellie progress in her career.
“Networking has been extremely valuable especially in a small community like this,” says Ellie.
“Two out of the three jobs that I've had here have been through networking and I know that I wouldn't have had the same opportunities if I’d chosen to live or study in a larger city
I think Darwin has so much to offer and I'm grateful for the opportunities that I have here. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to move to Australia to live and study.”
