Overview



Applications for 2024 will be open from 1st December 2023 through to 21st October 2024.

This course presents core strategies and builds knowledge on preparing and responding to a communicable disease outbreak. Topics include communicable disease characteristics, epidemiology in practice, clinical and public health planning, response and messaging in outbreaks, immunity and vaccinations and the indirect health consequences of outbreaks. Students completing this short course will gain knowledge transferable to various health and community settings to assist in the health preparedness and response for communicable disease outbreaks.

This course would be suitable for health professionals working in acute, primary or public health areas in government and non-government organisations. It would be an advantage for participants to have completed graduate-level health qualifications.
