Charles Darwin University (CDU) continues to commit to providing an inclusive and respectful environment for LGBTQIA+ staff and students with more than 100 staff members signing up to the University’s Ally Network in its first year.
Professor Maxine Piggott is a molecular biologist and leads the Tropical Biosecurity Group in the Research Institute for Northern Agriculture (RINA) at CDU. The Tropical Biosecurity group aims to build research capacity in tropical biosecurity to support a science-based approach to prepare, respond and manage pests, diseases and weeds and contribute to the protection of northern Australia’s unique environment and economy.
Dr Harinandanan Paramjyothi is an alumnus of the Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods (RIEL). His PhD supervisors were Dr. Brett Murphy, Prof. Lindsay Hutley, Dr. Anna Richards (CSIRO) and Prof. Jeremy Russell-Smith. He investigated the role of competition in shaping northern Australian savannas and the long-term responses of tree populations to fire management.
This policy outlines the principles applied by the University to maintain a workplace and study environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and an environment that is free from harassment, bullying and discrimination.
