This course provides an overview of qualitative research. It is designed for beginners and people who want an advanced level introduction. Throughout the workshop, you will discuss essential knowledge and skills to possess to undertake qualitative research. Some topics that will be covered are including:

  • What are qualitative methods? Why do qualitative research?
  • What kind of research questions are appropriate for qualitative inquiry?
  • What is reflexivity? Why is it important in qualitative?
  • Which qualitative method is right for my study? How do I select the best method?

About the speaker:

A/Prof Gretchen Ennis is a Social Research & Evaluation Specialist. She has spent over a decade as a social worker and community-academic. Gretchen is an experienced social work and community development practitioner, educator, social researcher, evaluation consultant, musician and art-maker.
