Overview




This short course provides an introduction to AI/machine learning, basic AI algorithms and their application:

Gain insight into mainstream AI models such as: 

  • Image recognition including classification and segmentation models
  • Generative AI for image generation
  • Large Language Models


Develop an understanding of machine learning, including: 

  • Project workflows and dataset set-up
  • Training and evaluation of machine learning models
  • Building your own AI project


Gain an understanding of the societal implications of AI developments. 
 


Term 3, 2024

  • This course will be delivered between 8th July 2024 and 1st September 2024 - two hours per week for eight weeks. 
  • Applications will close on 7th July 2024

Applicants must be 18 years old by the Census Date of the relevant admission period and have basic computer skills.
