This Orientation program for Darwin-based students will help you get to know CDU so you can feel connected and supported for study.

2. See your campus schedule

Make sure to register your details to reserve a limited Orientation welcome pack for collection on the day. Registered students who attend Orientation will also go in the draw to win the ultimate CDU starter pack!

If you are studying externally as a domestic student, you are welcome to attend Orientation sessions outlined for your nearest campus location.

Welcome to CDU Orientation

Casuarina campus, Red Building 2, Gulwa | Austin Asche Hall

10.30 am - 12.30 pm
Official welcome event with a formal introduction to CDU, followed 
by a Welcome to beautiful Larrakia Country. Meet the teams 
who provide essential services and support your learning, health 
and wellbeing journeys. Explore the campus, connect 
with fellow students, eat and be merry. 
 

CDU 101

Casuarina campus, Red Building 7, Mal Nairn Lecture Theatre

1 pm - 1.30 pm
A comprehensive session that tells you about how to survive at CDU, 
tools for student success and safety, important CDU services 
and having fun in Darwin.
 
Day 2 - Thursday 18 July

Connect with your faculty: Faculty of Health

Casuarina campus, Blue Building 1, Foyer

10 am - 1 pm
Meet the faculty and teaching staff for your discipline.
Get to know your peers with fun icebreakers and activities.
 

Connect with your faculty: Faculty of Arts and Society

An introduction to the faculty, including teaching staff
and learning support team. Network with your peers and 
be treated to refreshments. 

 

For students in the following disciplines: Accounting, 
Business and Law

Waterfront campus, Level 5 Auditorium

11 am - 2.30 pm
Online session also available via Zoom. See more details

For students in the following disciplines: Arts, Humanities 
and Social Sciences, Education, and Humanitarian 
and Disaster Resilience.

Immerse yourself in all things faculty - meet your lecturers, 
make industry connections with peak bodies and mingle
with your peers. Free BBQ lunch and afternoon tour 
of your study spaces. 
 
Day 3 - Friday 19 July

2 pm - 5 pm
Time to get social - be involved with our student groups 
and community stalls, play library scavenger hunts, 
enjoy DJ, music, games and much more.

Learn about ways to stay safe at CDU and while living in Darwin

All onshore international students in Australia are expected to attend sessions outlined in their campus Orientation program. If you are unable to attend Orientation due to delays, please visit one of our Welcome Centres on campus for assistance.

Transport

You can plan your journey on public transport with the NT Bus Tracker app. The major bus interchanges are located at Casuarina Shopping Centre, Darwin interchange and Palmerston interchange. Get student concession for bus travel by presenting your Student ID card to the bus driver on-board.

Free parking, parking permits and pay and display parking are available at Casuarina and Waterfront campuses. See Parking facilities for more details.

Connect at the Welcome Centre

The Welcome Centre can help you navigate through your first few weeks of study at CDU. If you have any questions or want to make friends with other students, visit any of our Welcome Centres on campus or online. Our friendly staff will be happy to help.
