Members of the public have an opportunity to hear about projects Charles Darwin University is working on with Chinese partners during a showcase tomorrow.

The CDU Engagement with China event will showcase the university’s collaboration with provincial stakeholders and institutions, current research projects, and education and training activities.

CDU Centre for School Leadership, Learning and Development Executive Director Professor Kathryn Moyle will give a presentation about the upcoming school principal leadership program with Hefei Normal University in China’s Anhui Province.

Professor Moyle said the three-week program, running from 19 November – 8 December, would bring 21 Chinese middle and high school principals to Darwin.

“The Chinese Government is interested in learning about how Australia develops its school leaders, and go to some of the country’s most prestigious universities in search of such insights,” Professor Moyle said.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to exchange knowledge about education practices so CDU and our Chinese partners can better understand how we each go about our work.”

During their time in Darwin, the Chinese delegation will listen to lectures from CDU academic staff, and visit schools in the Darwin region to learn about education for teachers working in remote communities.

As well as presentations from researchers and academic staff, the CDU Engagement with China event will include a delivery from the co-directors of the university’s Confucius Institute.

The CDU Engagement with China event will be held from 4:30pm – 6:30pm on Tuesday 29 October 2013 in Room 1, Building 2A, Blue Precinct, CDU Casuarina campus. Please RSVP to: E: rsvp@cdu.edu.au to register your attendance.
