Dr. Shawgat S. Kutubi is an industry-focused researcher in Accounting and Finance with over twelve years of experience. Her research interests are in financial reporting, corporate governance, accounting analytics, and first nations businesses in Australia. Shawgat has research experience working with financial institutions and not-for-profit organisations and has research expertise in qualitative and quantitative methods.
She has published in leading journals and presented papers at several international conferences and is currently supervising a Ph.D. student and a master’s by research student. A research active academic, she has successfully received several internal and external research grants and research and teaching awards. She is currently the coordinator of the Bachelor of Accounting course at Charles Darwin University.
Shawgat is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) and holds the Divisional Councilor position with the CPA Australia Divisional Council for the Northern Territory. As a member of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ), she frequently attends the AFAANZ conferences with her research presentations in the field of accounting and finance.
