This desktop analysis aims to understand if the Northern Territory Public Sector (NTPS) Special Measures Policy is increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees employed across the NTPS.
The analysis is undertaken using two methods, historical and comparative. The historical component is an analysis of the NTPS employment and workforce data over the last five years.
The comparative component compares the NTPS Aboriginal Employment and Career Development strategies with other jurisdictions to determine if the current strategy is contemporary best practice for attracting and retaining Aboriginal employees.
