Professor Dan Bressington

Professor Daniel Bressington

Dan is Professor in Mental Health and leads the College’s Mental Health Care Research Group. He also holds visiting Professor positions at La Trobe University (Melbourne) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong).

Dan is a UK registered Mental Health Nurse with 25 years’ experience and has around 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He is also Associate Editor for Frontiers Public Mental Health (specialty section of Frontiers in Psychiatry) and sits on several journal editorial boards.

He has an extensive track record in completing funded research projects and is currently working on several research projects based in Australia, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

Prof Dan is available to supervise research students with the interests below:

  • Multimorbidity in people diagnosed with a severe mental illness
  • Developing/testing psychosocial interventions to improve psychosis and other mental health conditions.
  • Mental health literacy/stigma.
  • Complex PTSD and PTSD.
