Professor David Price

Professor David Price

David Price is Professor in Public International Law and Intellectual Property Law at CDU.

He holds degrees in law as well as international relations, industrial history, and Chinese.

His primary research work has been on the development of intellectual property regimes and their enforcement in the Middle East. This focuses upon the intersection of intellectual property law, public international law, and international trade agreements.

This research has extended to the settlement of investment and trade disputes and the application of investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) policies and trade agreement provisions encompassing these areas.

He has published extensively and made conference presentations in these areas, researching its practice in the Middle East, Indonesia and Australia as exemplars.

He is supervising higher degree research students on the Association of South-East Asian Nations, investor-state dispute settlement, traditional knowledge and cultural heritage, Indonesian foreign policy, and regional energy policy.

David Price has worked, consulted, and researched in institutions in Australia, Indonesia, UK, Europe, China and the Middle East.

He is a member of the Law Association for Asia and the Pacific, and a board member of the International Indonesia Foundation, the Northern Territory Council of Law Reporting, and Northern Territory Law Journal.
