This page allows the user to configure various features of the CAPS system and to deselect groups of selection.
Communication settings affect the processing of communication items for Proposals users - but some of these settings can be overridden for an individual user in SECW0066.
For more information regarding notifications see Proposals Communications.
Date Aliases which determine warning generation and deadlines for proposal processing, are also recorded on this page. The value for these date aliases for a particular proposal is determined relative to the calendar instance(s) selected for a proposal timeline in PAAW1040. In that page, an Academic Calendar instance is recorded for Course or Unit Set proposals, and an Academic Calendar instance and Teaching Calendar instance are recorded for a Unit or User Defined proposal.
The deadlines of a proposal may also be affected by settings for elements in PAAW0200, or by manual overrides in PAAW1140.
This page is reached directly from the Callista main menu.

Submit Date Alias | The 'Submit' date is the date by which a proposal should be submitted. It cannot be submitted after this date has passed. In lieu of overrides in PAAW1140 or PAAW0200, the date alias value for the Teaching Calendar (for unit or user defined proposals) or Academic Calendar (for course or unit set proposals) selected for a Proposal Timeline in PAAW1040 will be the submit date for the proposal. The Date Alias selected here should be defined in all instances of Academic and Teaching Calendars. Date Aliases are defined in CALF0420 and date alias values are defined for calendar instances in CALF0511. S_PROPOSAL_CONF.SUBMIT_DT_ALIAS |
Final Date Alias | The 'Final' date is the date by which a proposal should be approved. It cannot be transferred in Calista Course Structure and Planning after this date has passed. In lieu of overrides in PAAW1140 or PAAW0200, the date alias value for the Teaching Calendar (for Unit or User Defined proposals) or Academic Calendar (for Course or Unit Set proposals) selected for a Proposal Timeline in PAAW1040 will be the final date for the proposal. The Date Alias selected here should be defined in all instances of Academic and Teaching Calendars. Date Aliases are defined in CALF0420 and date alias values are defined for calendar instances in CALF0511. S_PROPOSAL_CONF.FINAL_DT_ALIAS |
Show Submission Warning | A warning lamp may display in PAAW1000 for a proposal whose Submission deadline is approaching. Enter a whole number (of days) in this field to nominate the number of days before the submission deadline when this lamp will begin to display. Leave the field blank to stop the lamp from displaying. S_PROPOSAL_CONF.SUBMISSION_DAY_WARN |
Enable Review Comments | This check box controls whether reviewers can record a comment as part of recording their review outcome. If this check box is not selected, then the Comment field is not available in PAAW1150 and hence reviewers do not have to record their comment in two places, i.e. in the proposal itself and whilst recording their decision. On this tab an administrator can create Groups of proposal type selection options for display in PAAW1000.
Selection options are defined for Proposal Types in PAAW0200 and form links used in the creation of proposal instances in PAAW1000
Users can determine which Groups are not displayed for them in PAAW1000, by deselecting the group in SECW0066.
