PAAW1040 - Proposal Timeline

Overview

After selecting the content of the proposal the user must define the proposal timeline and description.
The user enters the the year and if required the teaching period and then proposal description. If the the year or teaching period is updated, the dates against the creation Submit Date, Final Review Date and Start to Teach date are automatically updated.

During the creation of a new proposal, this page is invoked after Proposal Method Selection.

It may also be invoked via the Change Timeline button toolbar link from PAAW1100 and PAAW1170 during Proposal Development (DRAFT status).

After submission this page can be viewed via the Timelines toolbar link in PAAW1120.

Field Descriptions

Field Description
Year: Academic Year in which the proposal is to become part of the curriculum.

[PROPOSAL_ACAD_YEAR_V.ALTERNATE_CODE]
Teaching Period: Teaching Period in that Academic Year (Field only displays for UNIT and USERDEF proposals).

[CAL_INSTANCE_TEACH_PERIOD_V.ALTERNATE_CODE or if no value, then CAL_INSTANCE_TEACH_PERIOD_V.CAL-TYPE]
Creation Date: The Date the proposal was created.

[PROPOSAL_INSTANCE.CREATION_DT or if no value, then SYSDATE when timeline details are recorded.]
Submit Date The date that the proposal was submitted.

[PROPOSAL_INSTANCE.SUBMIT_DT
Final Review Date: This date is derived according to calendar values entered above. This takes the value for the academic calendar for the date alias recorded for the Final Date Alias recorded in PAAW0100.

Start to Teach: Derived according to calendar values entered above.

Note: The Year and Teaching Periods available in the drop down lists on this page may be controlled by customisable views based on the Proposal Type, as selected by the proposer. For further information refer to the Callista Product Centre - wiki.callista.com.au/display/CPC.

Proof of Concept

This value displays if the the proposal type has the Proof of Concept Required check box selected in PAAW0200.

Field Description
Proof of Concept: The Proof of Concept Proposal on which this proposal will be based.
Must have a status of APPROVED, COMPLETE, IN-REVIEW, LATE-DECISION or TIME-BREACH.
A 'Find Proof of Concept' window is available.
Mandatory if the Proof of Concept Required check box is selected in PAAW0200.

PROPOSAL_INSTANCE.POC_PROPOSAL_ID]

Proposal Description

Field Description
Description: Description of the Proposal.
This will be displayed in the context section in PAAW1100, PAAW1120 and for the proposal and will be used as a meaningful identifier for reviewers.
Where this is a proposal for a new curriculum item, the proposer should record a meaningful description here.
Where this proposal is based on, or is an an update of an existing Curriculum item, details of that curriculum item, including version details, may be passed into this field. This action is contolled by an open source function regulated by the CAPS system administrator.

To Record Proposal Timeline Details when creating a New Proposal

  1. Go to PAAW1000.
  2. Click on the link for the proposal that you wish to create.
  3. Select the Proposal Creation Method - (based on existing or create from a blank proposal).
  4. The Create Timeline page (this page) opens automatically.
  5. Select the Academic Year (for all proposals) and Teaching Period (if proposal is for a unit).
    The Submit Date, Final Review Date and Start to Teach Date are automatically populated.
  6. Record a Description which will be associated with this proposal instance.
  7. Record Proof of Concept details if required.
  8. Click on the Next button to open PAAW1100 for the proposal that you wish to create.

Note: If the user is creating a proposal based on another proposal instance, then any proposal element attachment records that exist in the source Proposal Instance will also be copied to the new Proposal Instance during creation.

To Update Proposal Timeline Details for a Proposal

  1. Go to PAAW1000
  2. Select the proposal for which you wish to view the Timeline details.
  3. Click on Change Timeline (via More button in toolbar).
  4. Make changes to the Academic Year and/or Teaching Period as required.
  5. Submit Date, Final Review Date and Start to Teach Date will be recalculated accordingly.
  6. Click on the Save and Close button to save changes and open PAAW1170 with this proposal displayed.
