System Icons

The following list of buttons, images or icons, other than those displayed on the main toolbar section of SMS, help users identify what each symbol represents. For a description of the main SMS toolbar images, see System Wide Features.

Form Icons

System Name Button Image or Icon Description
add_button The quick way to add an item to the Person Menu Favourites menu is by clicking the add record button on returning to a menu from a form or a job. See Maintain Person Menu Favourites (SECF0065)
adm_ackn_let Admission Letters include Acknowledgment and Outcome Letters, functionality provided by the Acknowledgement Letter button in Direct Admissions Course (ADMF3240). See also Maintain Letter Admission Details (ADMF3900)
alte_grad Graduation Icon has three components to it. They are Alternate Exit, Graduated or both. These icons display next to the Course Detail only when a student has taken one of the three.
ass_item Create a new Assessment Item by selecting the Assessment Item icon. This invokes Maintain Assessment Items (ASSF2100)
attach_corresp5 This is an image that represents 'Request Attached to Correspondence' and is used in the Person Service Request block of Maintain Incoming Correspondence (CORF3000)
calendar This is the electronic popup to select a date for insertion in a field within SMS. See Electronic Calendar (GSFFELCAL) for further details.
corresp_to_sr5 This is an image that represents 'Correspondence is Attached to Service Request' and is used in the Incoming Correspondence block of Maintain Incoming Correspondence (CORF3000)
crs_award

The button beside the context Student Course Attempt and Alternative Exit record in Complete Student Course Attempt (PRFG4170), displays the Course Awards inquiry form. This lists all course awards associated with the context SCA or Alternative Exit.

crs_detail Clicking on one of these buttons causes details of the person, from the selected Student Unit Attempt, to be displayed in the Person Inquiry screen. This permits navigation to either more Course Attempt details for the student or details about another of the Student's Course Attempts. A Student Unit Attempt is selected by clicking on its detail button. See Class List Inquiry Screen (INQF12E0) for further details.
date_alias

Inquire on Date Alias Instance (CALF7510) is accessed via the Date Alias icon in a calling form, and appears as a pop-up window overlaying the form which calls it. Although the form itself is inquiry only, it can be used either to display details of a Date Alias instance used in the calling form, or supply a selected Date Alias instance to the calling form

discont The Discontinuation button is the process of discontinuing a Student's Course and/or Unit Offerings, and is carried out in the Student Course Attempt and Student Unit Attempt blocks of the Student Enrolments form (ENRF3000b)
fee_ass Selecting the Fee Assessment button causes a Fee Assessment to be performed for the Context Course Attempt (unless the Course Attempt does not have a Fee Category attached). See Establish Fee Contracts (ADMF3660) for an example.
find_ass_i This button (the Find Assessment Item) invokes the Find Unit Assessment Item form (ASSF2311) where a query can be executed to locate a particular Assessment Item attached to another unit.
find_ass_patt The Inquire on Unit Assessment Pattern (ASSF2321) is accessed via the Inquire on Unit Assessment Pattern button in the Maintain Student Unit Assessment Patterns form (ASSF3221).
person person button This icon invokes the Find Person Form from where a query can be executed to find a particular person.
find_trak_item Tracking details can be viewed by selecting the Tracking Item button which navigates to Maintain Tracking Items (TRKF2100).
map_to_person5 This is an image that represents 'Correspondence is Mapped to a Person' and is used in the Incoming Correspondence block of Maintain Incoming Correspondence (CORF3000)
note_icon This icon indicates that a note exists for a student, student course attempt, student unit set attempt or student unit attempt. Can be viewed in INQF1A00 and INQF1200
package The Package button (found in Record Admission Enquiry (ADMF1200)) displays an overlay allowing the items that make up the information type package to be displayed. For example: a FEES information type package may contain items on Student Contribution Amount or Institution Fees.
person_match5 This is an image that represents 'Potential Person Matches Exist' and is used in the Incoming Correspondence block of Maintain Incoming Correspondence (CORF3000)
poker Found in Register Special Consideration Application Dtls (ASSF4911). Where all or the majority of unit Assessment Items are to be registered for Special Consideration, the Default To All button can be used.
window When in Maintain Request Details (JBSF5210) or other JBSF forms, using the icon alongside the field ,
access the pop-up window, Inquire On Run Windows (JBSF4411), and selects the required Run Window using that form.

 

Web Page (JSF) Icons

System Name Icon Description
add Add

The Add icon. This icon enables the user to add a new record. For example, if you click on the words 'Add Unit' shown next to the icon, a search page is displayed from where you can find a particular record that you require and add it to the list.

clear clear

The Clear icon. Click on this icon to clear details that have been entered.

delete Delete The Delete icon. Click on words 'Delete' (or 'Delete Group') shown next to the icon to delete the corresponding record (or group of records).
arrow_down Down Arrow The Down Arrow icon. This icon is displayed where there is a list of multiple records and enables the user to move a record down one row. For example, if you click on the Down Arrow next to a particular record, that record is automatically moved down one row and the record that it replaces is automatically moved up one row, effectively swopping places.
page_edit Edit The Edit icon. This icon indicates that the displayed record can be changed. Click on the page name shown beside the icon to automatically invoke the corresponding page.
error Error The Error icon. This icon is used to indicate that an error has been made and the action cannot be completed. An error (validation) message is also displayed.
arrow_up Up Arrow

The Up Arrow icon. This icon is displayed where there is a list of multiple records and enables the user to move a record up one row. For example, if you click on the Up Arrow next to a particular record, that record is automatically moved up one row in the list and the record that it replaces is automatically moved down one row, effectively swopping places.

zoom LookUp_Search The Search icon. This icon is used to search for a value to enter in a field, for example, an Employer code or Person ID.
