The Faculty of Arts and Society has a vibrant research culture and supports research in a wide range of areas. The faculty, its research institutes and laboratories undertake research that positively impacts organisational and educational practices, as well as the lives of people and culturally diverse communities.

Business and economic research to create responsible and sustainable behaviour and organisational practice. 

• Contemporary Indigenous Knowledge and governance – designing new institutional and governance practices. 

• Criminal and corporate law, human rights, cyber law and customary law. 

• Demography and growth Planning – focused on dynamic remote and sparsely populated areas. 

• Educational contexts, institutions, workplaces, and the community, and supporting aspirations for diverse people, places, partnerships and programs. 

• Educational programs, EdTech, data literacy and digital futures, wellbeing and harm prevention programs, as well as the diverse nature of teachers and learners and questions of equity. 

• Evaluation and knowledge Impact – evaluating public service delivery strategies, policy and community partnerships. 

• Regional, economic and workforce development – exploring integrated and sustainable regional and economic development in diverse contexts.
