This form is used to apply unit sets to individual course offerings.

The form can be accessed in several ways:

  • Generally via the Course Offering Unit Set button in the Maintain Course Offerings form (CRSF1300).
  • Via the Course Offering Unit Sets button in the Apply Unit Set to Course Offerings form (CRSF4201).
  • Via the menu.

When entering the form through either navigation buttons, the course offering details are displayed in context in the Course Offering block. Unit sets that have previously been assigned to the course offering are also displayed in the Course Offering Unit Set block.

Queries can only be performed in the Course Offering block when accessed through the menu. When the form is entered in context via navigation button, queries cannot be performed on Course Offering. Exit to return to CRSF1300 or CRSF4201 to select a different course offering before returning to this form.

For further details on the use of unit sets, refer to the Course Structure and Planning overview.

Unit sets can be applied to course offerings and queries performed on the unit sets previously attached.

To apply a unit set to a course offering:

    • Enter a known unit set code; or
    • Select a unit set from the LOV. The LOV displays all PLANNED or ACTIVE unit sets.
  • Optionally record an override title for the course offering unit set. Override title is used to display a title that reflects the unit set - course offering relationship. For example: a unit set containing accounting units is applied to an engineering course. The override title could state 'Engineering Accounting'.
  • Select the Only as Subordinate indicator (optional). When checked the indicator restricts the unit set from being placed as superior in unit set relationships. If a unit set is marked as Only as Subordinate, a superior/subordinate relationship for the unit set should be created in the Maintain Course Offering Unit Set Relationships form (CRSF1281).
  • Optionally select the Show on Official Notification indicator. Selecting the indicator allows the unit set details to be displayed on official notices such as transcripts.

Queries can be performed on course offering unit sets. When performing queries, the Include Expired Unit Sets and Include Inactive Unit Sets indicators can be selected.

There are two navigation buttons available. The Course Offering Unit Set Relationship button navigates to the Maintain Course Offering Unit Set Relationships form (CRSF1281). The Course Offering Option Unit Set button navigates to the Maintain Course Offering Option Unit Sets form (CRSF1282).

Rules:

  • Only ACTIVE or PLANNED unit sets can be attached to course offerings.
  • Unit sets can only be attached to courses which do not breach the unit sets course type restrictions. These are maintained in the Unit Sets form (CRSF4200).
  • Where the Administrative indicator has been selected in CRSF4200, the Show on Official Notification indicator defaults to NO (unchecked).
  • The Only as Subordinate indicator cannot be selected once the unit set exists as a superior in a unit set relationship.
  • The Only as Subordinate indicator cannot be altered once the unit set is mapped to a course offering option admission category.
  • The Include Inactive Unit Sets indicator cannot be selected without selecting the Include Expired Unit Sets.
