This page is a Reference Data page that is used to set up the default values for the following fields when creating a new Precedent in the General Details step of PRDW0400:
The dates configured for the Date fields (listed above) are used in conjunction with a Precedent's Start Date, Validity Period Start Date or Last Review Date to define:
To use this page, it is expected that you are an administrator who is authorised to set up Reference data for Precedents.
This page is accessed via the main menu.
The following tables describe each field on the PRDW0100 page, including applicable Table values.
An asterisk (*) indicates the field is mandatory.

*End Date |
Enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years, then select a value for the 'after' field. For more information, see the 'after' Field Description, below. The End Date specified here is used in conjunction with a Precedent's Start Date, which is displayed in the Dates section in the General Details step of a Precedent (PRDW0400), to specify the period of time in which the Precedent is valid (i.e. active). For example:

*Validity Period End Date |
Enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years, then select a value for the 'after' field. For more information, see the 'after' Field Description, below. The Validity Period End Date specified here is the date after which a Precedent's external course and units are regarded as no longer 'equivalent' to an internal course and units. This date is normally used in conjunction with the Validity Period Start Date, displayed in the Dates section in the General Details step of a Precedent (PRDW0400). For example:

*Next Review Date |
Enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years, then select a value for the 'after' field. For more information, see the 'after' Field Description, below. The Next Review Date entered here is the date by which a Precedent must be reviewed. This date is used in conjunction with the Last Review Date, which is displayed in the Review section in the General Details step of a Precedent (PRDW0400). For example:

Keep Validity Period on Copy (check box) |
If this check box is selected, then the Validity Period Start and End Dates of the source Precedent are retained when using the 'Copy Precedent' function in the Summary Overview step of the Precedent (PRDW0410) page. (That is, the validity period will not be re-calculated when copying an existing Precedent to a new Precedent when this check box is selected.) If the check box is deselected, the Validity Period Start and End Dates will be calculated for the Copy Precedent funtion in the same way as when creating a new Precedent (i.e. based on the System Date in conjunction with the date configurations specified on this page). *Default Precedent Category | Select one of the following Precedent Categories from the field selector:
The value you select here will be the default value displayed in the Precedent Category field located on the New Precedent page (i.e. General Details step) when creating a new Precedent (PRDW0400). Table values: |
Maintain Approval Details | This check box enables institutions to configure whether or not the Approval Date and Approving Staff Member fields are updated to the current date and user details when a Precedent is set from Review to Active. Table values: |

Allow Advanced Standing Source Mapping (check box) |
Select this check box to enable an Advanced Standing 'Source' (ADVF1140) to be specified for a Precedent Type of Advanced Standing in the Precedent Types page (PRDW0010) when creating a new Precedent Type. Note: Advanced Standing Sources are created in the ADVF1140 form and are used to identify the basis for advanced standing. This check box only applies to VET and dual-sector institutions. (HE-only institutions are advised not to select this check box.) Table Value: |
The 'after' field applies to each of the date fields, listed above.
Use the following instructions to configure each of the default dates: the End Date, Validity Period End Date and Next Review Date.
For more information on each field, see Field Descriptions, above.
1. Enter the number of days, weeks, months, or years. The number you enter must be a whole number between 0 and 999.
If zero (0) is entered, the date will be the same as the date specified for the 'after' field (i.e. the Start Date, Validity Period Start Date, or Last Review Date).
2. Select a calendar type from the pop-list, i.e. 'days', 'weeks', 'months' or 'years'.
3. Select a value for the 'after' field (for more information, see the 'after' field in 'Field Descriptions', above).
