INQF1241 - Advanced Standing Unit Level Inquiry

This form displays details of Advanced Standing for a student at 'Unit Level in ADVF4200. A 'Unit Level' is generally (and not restricted to) the year level of the course(s) to which a unit belongs.

Navigation to this screen is via the Unit Level Details button on the Advanced Standing Unit Inquiry form (INQF1242). The button label has a plus (+) sign if Unit Level Advanced Standing is recorded, otherwise the label has a minus (-) sign.

The screen contains two blocks:

• Advanced Standing
• Advanced Standing Unit Level

Advanced Standing Block

This block displays details of the Person and Course carried forward from INQF1242.

Field Details:

• Person ID - Identification number of a Person carried over from INQF1242.
• Course Version - Course Code and Version of a Course Attempt recorded for a student carried over from INQF1242. (For example, the course 'M300.2' is version 2 of course M300. Advanced Standing is approved/granted for a particular Course Attempt.)

Advanced Standing Unit Level Block

This block displays Unit Level Advanced Standing details that have been recorded for the course, i.e. Advanced Standing at the 'Unit Level' (for example, 1 - First year level within a course, 2 - second year level within a course) rather than in a specific unit. Queries can be performed in this block.

Field Details:

• Unit Level - The Unit Level at which Advanced Standing has been approved/granted. A Unit Level is generally (but not restricted to) the year level of the course(s) to which a unit belongs.
• Description - Description of the Unit Level as recorded in .
• Credit Pts - Number of credit points approved/not approved for Advanced Standing at this Unit Level.
• Contact Hours - Number of contact hours approved/not approved for Advanced Standing at this Unit Level.
• Discipline - The discipline group of the Advanced Standing.
• Institution - The institution at which studies that form the basis of this Advanced Standing application were undertaken.
• Granting Status - Status of the Unit Level Advanced Standing application. The Granting Statuses and their meanings are:
  • Assessing - The application for Advanced Standing is presently being assessed.
  • Approved - The application for Advanced Standing has been approved but has not yet been GRANTED.
  • Declined - The student has decided not to accept the APPROVED or GRANTED Advanced Standing.
  • Granted - The Advanced Standing has been GRANTED and applied to the student's record.
  • Cancelled - The student has withdrawn their request for Advanced Standing.
  • Revoked - The institution has withdrawn its approval of the Advanced Standing application.
  • Expired - A record's granting status becomes EXPIRED when the record's Expiry Date is reached while the granting status is still APPROVED. For example, the student has not enrolled in the Course Attempt by the Expiry Date.
  • Not-Apprvd - The institution has not approved the request by a student for Advanced Standing.
• Adv Stnd Cat - The nature of the Advanced Standing.

Admin and Basis Details Tab

• Discipline Description - Description for the Discipline value displayed in the table above.
• Created/Approved/Granted/etc - See explanation for these labels in table below
• Authorised By: Administrator who authorised this Advanced Standing
• Courses Grouped check box - Has no system functionality. It is used for local development reports to, for example, determine how many units of a course a student has undertaken.
• Course Type - The Course Type of the course in which study was undertaken that forms the basis of this application.
• Last Year of Enrolment - The last year of Enrolment at the institution where study was undertaken that forms the basis of this application.
• Completed check box - Indicates that the course in which study forming the basis of this application was undertaken, was completed
• System Adv Stnd Recog Type - System Advanced Standing Recognition Type to which the Adv Stnd Cat value (see above) is mapped.

Note: Depending on the current Granting Status of the selected Advanced Standing or Advanced Standing Unit Level record, the area after the 'Created' field in the 'Admin & Basis Details' tab dynamically changes. For example, if ASSESSING is the current Granting Status, then the area after the 'Created' date field in the Admin Tab would display the 'Assessing' date field.

The matrix below shows what field/s are displayed, depending on the current Granting Statuses of the selected record.

To Enquire on a Student's Advanced Standing at Unit Level

1. Go to INQF1A00.

2. Perform a query to find the required student.

3. Click on the Enrolled Courses button to access the INQF1200 form. Then click on the Adv Stnd button (this button is disabled if the student has no approved or granted Advanced Standing).

4. The Advanced Standing Unit Inquiry form (INQF1242) is displayed. Click on the Unit Level Details button located at the bottom of the screen. The Advanced Standing Unit Level Inquiry form (INQF1241) is displayed.
