INQF1242 - Advanced Standing Unit Inquiry

This form displays details of Advanced Standing in specific units that have been applied for or granted to a student in ADVF4200.

This form is accessed from INQF1A00 via the Enrolled Courses button, then via the Adv Stnd button in INQF1200 (this button is disabled if the student has no approved or granted Advanced Standing).

The screen is divided into two blocks:

• Advanced Standing
• Advanced Standing Unit

Advanced Standing Block

This block displays details of the context Person and the course that was enquired on in INQF1200.

Advanced Standing Unit Block

This block displays details of the unit for which Advanced Standing details have been recorded. The unit(s) displayed are the context records carried forward from the INQF1200 screen, however queries can also be performed in this block.

Field Details:

For further information about Advanced Standing Unit fields refer to the Student Advanced Standing Unit Details page.

• Unit Code - The code for the unit which the student is being given as Advanced Standing.
• Version - The version of the unit which the student is being given as Advanced Standing.
• Adv Stnd Cat - The nature of the Advanced Standing.
• Percentage - The percentage of the unit's value which is being credited.
• Credit Points - The credit point value of the unit being credited.
• Supervised Contact Hrs - The supervised contact hours that apply to the unit.
• Total contact Hrs - The total contact hours that apply to the unit.
• Institution - Code for the institution at which the student undertook the study that resulted in the unit advanced standing.
• Granting Status - Status of the Unit Level Advanced Standing application. The Granting Statuses are:
  • Assessing - The application for Advanced Standing is presently being assessed.
  • Approved - The application for Advanced Standing has been approved but has not yet been GRANTED.
  • Declined - The student has decided not to accept the APPROVED or GRANTED Advanced Standing.
  • Granted - The Advanced Standing has been GRANTED and applied to the student's record.
  • Cancelled - The student has withdrawn their request for Advanced Standing.
  • Revoked - The institution has withdrawn its approval of the Advanced Standing application.
  • Expired - A record's granting status becomes EXPIRED when the record's Expiry Date is reached while the granting status is still APPROVED. For example, the student has not enrolled in the Course Attempt by the Expiry Date.
  • Not-Apprvd - The institution has not approved the request by a student for Advanced Standing.
• Institution Name - The name of the institution whose code is displayed for the record selected above.

Admin and Basic Details Tab:

• Unit Title - Title of the unit selected above.
• Created/Approved/Granted/etc. - Date on which this action occurred. See table below for explanation of which labels will display.
• Authorised By - Person who authorised the change in status of the Advanced Standing application.
• Crs Grouped - This check box is generally not used. Where it is used, it indicates (for Progression purposes) that while the unit is owned by an Organisational Unit other than the one that owns the course, a decision has been made to regard the unit as satisfying part of the course's core requirements. There is no functionality within Callista which utilises this check box.
• Crs Type - The Course Type of the course in which study was undertaken which forms the basis of this application.
• Last Year of Enrolment - The last year of enrolment at the institution where study was undertaken that forms the basis of this application.
• Source - This source broadly defines the basis for, or type of, advanced standing. These values are mapped to System Advanced Standing Source values in ADVF1140.
• Completed check box - Indicates that the course in which study forming the basis of this application was undertaken , was completed
• System Adv Stnd Recog Type - System Advanced Standing Recognition Type to which the Adv Stnd Cat value (see above) is mapped.

Depending on the current Granting Status of the selected Advanced Standing or Advanced Standing Unit Level record, the area after the 'Created' field in the Admin & Basis Details tab dynamically changes. For example, if ASSESSING is the current Granting Status, then the area after the 'Created' date field in the Admin Tab would display the 'Assessing' date field.

The matrix below shows what fields are displayed, when different Granting Statuses of the selected record.

 To Enquire on a Student's Advanced Standing

1. Go to INQF1A00.

2. Perform a query to find the required student.

3. Click on the Enrolled Courses button to access the INQF1200 form.

4. Click on the Adv Stnd button to access the Advanced Standing Unit Inquiry form (INQF1242). (Note: This button is disabled if the student has no approved or granted Advanced Standing).
