Purpose

To maintain Person Prior Education achievements for a student.

This function enables the recording of a person's Prior Educational Achievements according to institution-defined Prior Education Types. These Institution-defined types are in turn mapped to government-defined Prior Education Types.

This information is used in the NAT00100 Client Prior Educational Achievement File (Data Element = Prior Educational Achievement Identifier), for AVETMISS Reporting.

For Victorian Institutions, the Person Prior Education Achievement Recognition block is displayed. The Recognition values are defined in ENRF01M0 and this block contains information about whether the Prior Education is based on an International or Australian qualification.

This form is accessed from the main menu, or through either ADMF3000, via the Prior Ed'n button, middle block, or ENRF3000, via the Prior Ed'n button, middle block.

The Person block contains:

• Person ID
• Sex
• Date Of Birth

The Person Prior Education block contains:

• Prior Education Type
• Description

*The Person Prior Educational Achievement Recognition block contains:

• Prior Educational Achievement Recognition Identifier
• Description

Rules/Notes:

* The Person Prior Educational Achievement Recognition block is only displayed on this form if the ‘Use Victorian specific rules for statistics reporting’ indicator is selected in STAF1000.

You cannot have two Prior Education records of the same type in the Person Prior Education block.
For each Prior Education Type record, it is possible to have multiple Recognition Type records, but they must be different.
Prior Education records do not always have associated Person Prior Educational Achievement Recognition records.

• Enter Insert mode.
• Enter the Person Prior Education code in the Person Prior Education field of a blank record.
• Enter the Person Prior Education to which the new record maps from the list of values (or key a valid value) in the Person Prior Education field.
• Save.

Rules/Notes:

A warning displays if a Prior Education Achievement of Diploma or higher is added when the student is enrolled in a Foundation level course (i.e. Course version is in a course category with Foundation indicator selected in CRSF1130).

• Find the record to be deleted.
• Locate the cursor in the record to be deleted.
• Delete record.
• Save.

Rules/Notes:

A Person Prior Education record can be closed preventing any further use by selecting the Closed check box.
